Data Reliability
The eGPS Solutions network's mission is to operate
24 hours a day, seven days a week. The network software performs
quality and data integrity checks continuously by relative positioning
between base antennas. The network is monitored during regular business
hours, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
eGPS Solutions’ system reports WGS-84 datum.
The antenna locations are surveyed in from HARN monuments and vertical
control monuments throughout North Georgia. The values of these are
presently being Bluebooked through NGS.
The maximum Positional Error Tolerance of points that
eGPS Solutions systematically observed using a VRS correction over
a period of months and with one minute of data:
| Horizontal |
= |
0.03' |
| Vertical |
= |
0.06' |
eGPS Solutions recommends that users verify their own
data by observing existing survey monuments near their projects as
datum verification, and that they repeat observations to model positional
error tolerances for themselves. This verification would be similar
to use of a calibrated baseline for EDM equipment verification.
All major manufacturers’ receivers and data collectors
can be used in the eGPS Solutions network. The system broadcasts
CMR+, and RTCM correction formats.
Rover-receivers may function with different cell phone
modems, data collectors and software than those utilized with the
eGPS Solutions rover-receivers. The specialists at eGPS Solutions
can advise users and offer their support to obtain the proper configuration
of subscriber’s equipment through the manufacturer’s
support system. Upon proper configuration of the equipment, the data
reliability of eGPS Solutions’ service can be checked by
subscribers at anytime by simply logging into the network.
System downtime is viewed as unacceptable. Any
break in data streaming will be met head-on, and resolved quickly
to restore the RTK correction signal and the RINEX storage.
